‘Walkshop’ Workshop by Jane’s Walk

Learn how to lead a great community walk, share local stories and connect with your neighbourhood

What if a walk around your neighbourhood could become a conversation, a story, or even the beginning of a new idea?

The Rogers Road Business Improvement Area is partnering with Jane’s Walk Toronto for an in-person “Walkshop” designed to introduce community members to the Jane’s Walk movement and show you how to create your own engaging walking experience.

Jane’s Walk is a global movement of free, citizen-led walking conversations inspired by Toronto urbanist and community activist Jane Jacobs. Walks encourage people to explore their neighbourhoods, share stories, discover things they may have overlooked and connect with the people around them.

What is a Walkshop?

Think of it as a workshop you can walk away from.

This interactive session will introduce participants to the tips, tools and techniques used to create a great Jane’s Walk. You’ll learn how to turn local knowledge, stories and observations into a distinctive walking experience that brings people together.

Whether you already have an idea for a walk or simply want to learn more about your neighbourhood, this is an opportunity to get involved, meet fellow community members and discover new ways to share what makes Rogers Road special.

No previous experience is required.
